Is this gift too much....?

Well Dolly, since you are working to pay your bills and he doesn't have a job at this point, I have one major question... ARE YOU CRAZY??!! I mean, it's a lovely gesture but also reckless. Look, you've only been together for 7 months, it's far too soon to make a sacrifice of that magnitude. Has he made a similar sacrifice? Would he ever? Probably not. Men unfortunately are selfish by nature. Long distance runaround indeed. Is he even talking about "putting a ring on it"? Probably not since he's on the dole. Anyway, it's always been my experience that if you give a man an extravagant gift that he can't reciprocate, it shifts the focus of the relationship in a very negative way. You're not his mother, nor his wife. You want to surprise him? Then scrimp & save to fly back to England and plan to spend a special romantic weekend doing things you both enjoy. Trust me, that will be much more meaningful to him. When he gets on his feet he'll buy his own footie splurge & treat you to it then,and he wont feel guilty about breaking your bank. Don't do too much too soon. Ta luvvie.
