Feminists, what's your reason for not feeling you have to defend feminism from it's critics?

It reminds me of discussing alternative medicine with my Mother's side of the family. Me: "So, all the money sane, smart people spend out of pocket for alternative medicine is for the placebo effect?" ~= "So, all these guys whining about the effects of feminism are just dateless, bitter, chauvinist, whiners, and the number of bad side effects of feminism are negligible?"
