I bought an edelbrock 1400 carb (egr), but my car doesnt have egr. carb will work but can i plug egr vent?

i had question earlier but i didnt get a definite answer. i am plannin on puttin it on tomorow so i need to know if it will work. i bought an intake manifold too so the carb will work just fine. but the carburetor that i got comes with the egr vent, "canister vent", which wont be used becuase my car doesnt have it, its a 1971 el camino. pluggin the vent shouldnt be a problem right?
