What do I need to replace. Choke does'nt open correctly when start engain. It chugs for about 5 min. then runs?

1985 chevy 305 C-10 PU when it starts it chugs real bad till gets warm 5 min or so. I noticed if I hold choke open it idles fine. What needs replaced to get choke operating correctly?
