I had an odd dream of people jumping from a staircase to their death what could this mean?

In my dream there were hundreds of people kids and adult walking up a spiral staircase that seemed to never end, but then one kid decided to jump off and broke his leg upon landing after that they all started jumping to their deaths and i was just watching in horror hundreds of them jumping. I felt so hopeless and confused two people who were with me seemed to not even care. I then began crying as people fell to a gruesome fate that they seemed was necessary i then turned around to find myself in a house with an old lady making a sandwich using a knife to spread peanut er. She then looked at me and her face began to grow grey her eyes turned into big black holes as the knife she was using grew sharp and she stabbed it into her chest opening her mouth in what looked like despair and sadness while her black eyes began to drip black. Does neone know what this may mean?
