What about other culture's astronomy?

In my astronomy cl we are always learning about Aristotle, Ptolomy, and various others founding fathers of astronomy. But the cles always seem to suggest that Mesopotamia was the only place astronomy started. This can't be true as many Orient cultures studied the stars as well as ancient Aztecs, Inca's and Mayans. So what were these groups understanding of how the universe worked? Did they believe in an earth centered universe? Does anyone know where I can at least find this out?
