Copyright infrigiment on public TV shows?

I had the question other day about copyright infringement on TV show aired by Comedy Central but i got no clear answer, on their main site i cant access their show hence im located in Europe, and youtube isn't very good source for this material, especialy for those who are in this continent... so my question is... is it not copyright violation on CC behalf if i record and upload video on youtube for entertainment purposes without any commercial dispute? could anyone shed some light on this ?
