Did King Jehoiakim get captured, or killed during the seige of Babylon?

King Jehoiakim was the King of Israel when it was besieged by Nebuchadnezzar. Was he captured? The Bible says that he was carried away in chains. Or was he killed? Because doesn't the Bible say that he was not given a proper burial and that his son surrendered Jerusalem to Nebuchadnezzar?
